Health Occupation Students Take Top Honors At State Competition

Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Education applauds students who recently placed in the West Virginia Health Occupations Students (WV HOSA) of America Competition.  

More than 400 students and advisors attended the WV HOSA State Leadership Conference, sponsored by Marshall Community and Technical College in March. The State Leadership Conference offers members the opportunity to participate in 42 leadership and skill competitive events.

HOSA is a national organization for secondary, postsecondary and collegiate students who are enrolled or have been enrolled in Health Occupations Education. The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health occupations education students, thus helping the students meet the needs of the health care community.  

Currently, there are more than one thousand student members in WV HOSA.
