Educators Eligible for Leadership Scholarship

December 22, 2008

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Teachers, principals and county administrators from across West Virginia are invited to apply for the Primary Education Scholarship to participate in Leadership West Virginia.

The statewide program is designed to develop, strengthen and connect a cross-section of emerging leaders for the Mountain State. During eight months of training, participants in each Leadership West Virginia class are helped to enhance their personal leadership skills and enrich their knowledge of not only the problems facing the state, but also of its diverse and unique attributes to foster a new spirit of energy, enthusiasm and vitality throughout the state.

The scholarship covers the $2,000 tuition cost for the program and includes a stipend of $100 for each session attended during the program year in which the scholarship was awarded.

Applications for the 2009 class are being accepted through Dec. 31, 2008.  For more information, visit Leadership West Virginia's Web site at or contact Pam Farris at Leadership West Virginia at (304) 342-1497.
