Student Loans May Be Deferred in Subject Areas with Teacher Shortages Posted: March 26, 2001
The U. S. Department of Education has notified the West Virginia Department of Education that some student loans in teacher shortage areas may qualify for loan deferments.
According to information provided by the U. S. Department of Education, student loan deferments are available in chemistry, physics, mathematics, all foreign languages, school library media, reading, American sign language, English As a Second Language, special education, speech language pathology and counseling.
