Option Pathway Coordinator, TASC Testing, Charleston, WV

Duties and Responsibilities
Reports to and works cooperatively with the Assistant Director of Adult Education and Workforce Development/TASC State Administrator in the administration, supervision and management of the West Virginia TASC testing program. The position will include implementation of all policies and procedures required by the CTB/McGraw-Hill as they relate to the TASC test and the Option Pathway. 
1. Knowledge of West Virginia’s Next Generation Content Standards and Objectives and able to identify key standards and objectives for Option Pathway students 
2. Serve as spokesperson for the Option Pathway program by speaking to LEAs interested in adopting the Option Pathway.  
3. Implement all policies and procedures for establishing and operating Option Pathway centers as outlined by WVDE Policy 2444.4. 
4. Oversee the administration of procedures for verifying eligibility, registration, testing, retesting, reporting of scores, issuing of diplomas and maintenance of records for the Option Pathway.  
5. Ensure TASC test administration procedures at Option Pathway sites through regular security checks, including on-site monitoring. 
6. Monitor Option Pathway sites for modifications and revisions to guidelines. 
7. Knowledge of preparation materials for the TASC and implementing these materials throughout the State. 
8. Implement/continue any mandated requirements established by WVDE, including centralized record keeping. 
9. Work with Department of Education staff on related assignments.  
10. Experience working with various computer programs, Excel, websites, online registration and surveys. 
11. Collaborate with other agencies in implementing Option Pathway sites throughout the state.  
12. Work with other government, local and community entities to provide TASC testing services.  
13. Assist with the Option Pathway at Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy 
14. Assist with the monitoring and implementing TASC testing throughout the State 
15. Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Adult Education and Workforce Development/TASC State Administrator. 
 
EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP:  
Department of Education staff are employed upon recommendation of the state superintendent of schools and are state employees. No representative or employee of the state is authorized to enter into any employment contract or other agreement. Department staff work under the direction of the state superintendent of schools for the general supervision of the free schools in the state and implementing the policies of the board and other necessary tasks as determined by the state superintendent or his/her designee. Each employee is "at-will" and subject to termination by the state superintendent at any time, with or without notice, cause or compensation.  
The employment relationship between the state superintendent and the employee may be terminated by either party. Reasons for termination by the state superintendent include, but are not limited to, immorality, incompetency, cruelty, insubordination, intemperance, willful neglect of duty, unsatisfactory performance, the conviction of a felony or a guilty plea or a plea of no contest to a felony charge, misuse of funds or property, violations of law or policies of the state board, lack of need, or a lack or loss of funding.  

Qualifications
1. West Virginia Professional teaching certificate and/or adult education license.  
2. A minimum of Master's Degree in education, or related field.  
3. Effective oral and written communication skills.  
4. Experience in presenting training workshops at the regional, state, and/or national level.  
5. Experience using computers, management software, WOW, Excel, editing websites, online registration for meetings, webinars and surveys.  
6. Ability to work effectively as a member of an educational team.  
7. Ability to travel throughout West Virginia and out-of-state on an occasional basis (including air travel).  
8. Ability to work weekends/evenings as position demands.  
9. Experience in working with other agencies/organizations to provide testing services. 
10. Knowledge of high school graduation requirements and policy 2510 desired. 
11. Experience in TASC testing policy and procedures desired. 
12. ABE experience desired.

Salary
$72,872.00-$79,872.00 (Commensurate with educational level and years of experience.)
