West Milford Elementary School

West Milford, West Virginia 26451

Dear Ms. Holmes:

Pursuant to your request for guidelines for what are and what are not acceptable expenditures of faculty senate funds, please find enclosed two memoranda (October 25 and December 12, 1990) issued by my office on the subject of faculty senates. Also enclosed is the commentary written about W.Va. Code 18-5A-5 in the Informal_ Guidelines_for_Implementing_Public_Education_Bills_Enacted_in_Third_ Extraordinary_Session_1990. I have checked the paragraphs which answer your question. These simply restate the law prescribed by W.Va. Code 18-5A-5(b)(1) and 18-9A-9(4), which also are enclosed and marked.

In answer to your specific question, I believe computer furniture would be an appropriate expenditure of faculty senate funds.

Hoping that I have been of service, I am,

Sincerely,

/s/

Henry Marockie
