Title of Vacancy
Coordinator, Research, Evaluation, and Reporting, Office of Data Analysis and Research, Charleston, WV

Administrative Unit
Division of Support and Accountability

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Reports to the Director of Data Analysis and Research in meeting goals and project milestones. 
2. Represents the office as necessary in support of the state longitudinal data system and Data Steward Task Teams. 
3. Coordinates the WVDE Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Research Review Committee (RRC). 
4. Specifies and follows appropriate procedures for data collection, data entry, cleaning, verification, analysis and reporting. 
5. Assists in the conceptualization, development, and conduct high-quality research activities/studies involving diverse stakeholder groups. 
6. Provides research, evaluation, and strategic planning technical assistance to program offices in the WVDE, and county schools as needed. 
7. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Office of Data Analysis and Research. 

Qualifications
1. Masterís degree from an accredited college or university in education, research, statistics, information technology, or at least five years of experience in a related field is required. 
2. Working knowledge and experience with educational research/evaluation methods, statistical analysis, data warehouse and database management. 
3. Experience in developing data dashboards or similar data visualization techniques that are easily accessible to various stakeholders. 
4. Demonstrate the ability to develop, deploy, and manage survey research projects. 
5. Demonstrate understanding of valid and reliable research designs that include appropriate sampling data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting. 
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to produce high-quality, well-organized documents (e.g., reports, articles, studies, white papers, publications). 
7. Ability to communicate to a range of audiences including policy makers, educators, and the general public. 
8. Demonstrate experience and success sin the development/coordinator of technical documentation materials. 
9. Familiarity with the organizational structure of the West Virginia Department of Education 
10. Strong technology skills.

Employment Relationship
Department of Education staff are employed upon recommendation of the State Superintendent of Schools and are state employees. No representative or employee of the state is authorized to enter into any employment contract or other agreement. Department staff work under the direction of the State Superintendent of Schools for the general supervision of the free schools in the state and implementing the policies of the board and other necessary tasks as determined by the State Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee. Each employee is at-will and subject to termination by the State Superintendent of Schools at any time, with or without notice, cause or compensation.

The employment relationship between the State Superintendent of Schools and the employee may be terminated by either party. Reasons for termination by the State Superintendent of Schools include, but are not limited to, immorality, incompetency, cruelty, insubordination, intemperance, willful neglect of duty, unsatisfactory performance, the conviction of a felony or a guilty plea or a plea of no contest to a felony charge, misuse of funds or property, violations of law or policies of the state board, lack of need, or a lack or loss of funding.

Salary
$75,508.00-$82,508.00 (Commensurate with educational level.)
