Welcome to the Common Ground Partnership website. This website is a hub of information for students, teachers, administrators, counselors, and family members.
The Common Ground Partnership, established in 2011, consists of the West Virginia Department of Education, all military branches, the Governor's Office, the State Board of Education, the WV Veterans Council, the West Virginia Congress of Parents and Teachers, Inc., and the Adolescent Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention (ASPEN) Project. The goal of Common Ground is to create a shared role among all Common Ground partners in developing our country's youth to be future leaders and humanitarians in their communities, state, and nation. This includes joint efforts to share the many resources available to our students as described in this website.
This website is a one-stop shopping experience to help schools easily access resources such as a speakers bureau, career and college planning resources, family support resources, student leadership opportunities, tutoring and mentoring services, and much more.
In 2011, a Memorandum of Understanding established the partnership between the West Virginia Department of Education, the West Virginia Board of Education, and the United States Military recruiting organizations which serve West Virginia. In 2013, the partnership expanded to include representatives from the Adolescent Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention (ASPEN) Project, the West Virginia Congress of Parents and Teachers, Inc., and Legal Aid of WV.
