Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan professional development in mathematics for elementary, middle and high school level teachers and administrators in June Harless Center partner counties and the Cabell County Incubator School. 
2. Deliver professional development in mathematics for elementary, middle and high school level teachers in June Harless Center partner counties and the Cabell County Incubator School.  
3. Work as part of a team to connect the work of 6-12 schools in mathematics education to that of the pre-service course sequence for the College of Education and Professional Development. 
4. Work as part of a team to seek grant funding for mathematics initiatives (pre-service; in-service). 
5. Work collaboratively with WVDE and Center for Professional Development (CPD) to plan and implement joint projects in mathematics education. 
6. Participate in committee meetings that pertain to the work of the June Harless Center. 
7. Collaborate with RESAs to plan and deliver mathematics professional development (6-12). 
8. Provide support for development of after-school mathematics initiatives. 
9. Other duties as assigned. 
Department of Education staff are employed upon recommendation of the state superintendent of schools and are state employees. No representative or employee of the state is authorized to enter into any employment contract or other agreement. Department staff work under the direction of the state superintendent of schools for the general supervision of the free schools in the state and implementing the policies of the board and other necessary tasks as determined by the state superintendent or his/her designee. Each employee is ďat-willĒ and subject to termination by the state superintendent at any time, with or without notice, cause or compensation. 
The employment relationship between the state superintendent and the employee may be terminated by either party. Reasons for termination by the state superintendent include, but are not limited to, immorality, incompetency, cruelty, insubordination, intemperance, willful neglect of duty, unsatisfactory performance, the conviction of a felony or a guilty plea or a plea of no contest to a felony charge, misuse of funds or property, violations of law or policies of the state board, lack of need, or a lack or loss of funding. 

1. Masterís Degree in Education with Middle School or High School endorsement.  
2. Holds West Virginia certification as a teacher, principal or administrator. 
3. National Board Certification preferred. 
4. Mathematics certification through grade 12. 
5. Technology skills that include: 1) smart boards; 2) mathematic manipulatives; 3) virtual education delivery systems; and 4) handheld technology instruments. 
6. Experience teaching NCTM and Common Core Standards. 
7. Experience working with the integration of mathematics and 6-12 curricula. 
8. Experience delivering professional development and working with adult learners.
