We the People… The Citizens and the Constitution is a nationally acclaimed civic education program about the history and philosophy of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. It is designed to promote civic responsibility among students by enhancing their understanding of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The program aligns with the West Virginia Content Standards and Objectives and complements the regular school curriculum by providing upper elementary, middle school and high school students with a course of instruction on the history and principles of democracy in the United States and the history of its development.
Complimentary sets of materials will be given (30 student texts and a teacher’s guide) to teachers who attend this professional development training and who participate in the program. Each We the People... textbook is designed for a wide range of student abilities and may be used in a variety of ways in your classroom.
