Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Board of Education has placed Policy 2250: Community Involvement to Complement Education out on public comment. The policy sets the requirements for county boards of education to develop formal procedures to evaluate non-school sponsored programs, services, activities and partnerships.

“The Board of Education thinks it is very important that county schools boards have control of what extra or co-curricular activities are entering classrooms,” said Board President Howard Persinger. “Policy 2250 gives counties a set of playing rules.”

Policy 2250 will remain out on comment for 60 days. School administrators and parents are encouraged to review the document and make suggestions on improving the policy. You can find Policy 2250 by logging onto http://wvde.state.wv.us/policies/
