Dr. Tim Knoster, a leader in the field of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) will lead the three day workshop. Dr. Knoster will emphasize building-based positive behavior support that will result in the participants: - establishing a team based approach to school discipline - developing a site specific needs assessment - developing 3- 5 operationally defined behavior expectations across core school routines and settings for all students - understanding the methodology of teaching behavior expectations to students - designing a system of acknowledgement/reinforcement of student performance concerning the identified behavioral expectations - establishing problem solving procedures including systems of early intervention for students who are at-risk for developing chronic problem behavior or who are demonstrating this behavior.
All schools in the state have been sent information concerning the details of this workshop. The first 25 school teams registering will be assured participation.
