Students Strive for Sweet Success at Culinary Days

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - West Virginia HEAT plans to host Culinary/Hospitality Days at Glade Springs on Nov. 12, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. More than 350 ProStart and lodging management students and teachers from across West Virginia are expected to attend.

The lineup includes demonstrations and hands-on activities by chefs and hospitality personnel from all over West Virginia. Joe LoRusso from the Charleston Marriott, Kim Burton from Charleston’s Embassy Suites and Will Greenwood, executive chef at Glade Springs, will be presenters as well as other well-known industry chefs and personnel. Ice carving, pasta making, cake decorating, sales and marketing in the hospitality industry, management decision making, sausage stuffing and other cooking demonstrations will take place.

Students will have an opportunity to expand on their classroom experiences and learn from the masters as education and industry work together.
