The 2019 KidStrong Conference will be at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center (formerly the Charleston Civic Center) on June 13 - 14, 2019. The registration deadline was Saturday, June 1, 2019. The deadline for block room rates also was Saturday, June 1, 2019.
There is no registration cost for school personnel including School Nurses, Health & Physical Education Teachers, Alternative Education Teachers, School Counselors, Nutrition Service Personnel, School Administrators, Pupil Services Personnel, Head Start Nurses, After School Staff, Parent Engagement Resource Center (PERC) staff, School-Based Health Center (SBHC) staff, Public Health Specialists working with youth and Wellness Coaches who are part-time/full-time public school employees. Short-term substitutes, community healthcare providers, community organizations and others may attend at a cost of $50.00 which includes continuing education hours. Three hours of non-degree graduate credit for teacher and professional support staff recertification and/or salary reclassification will be offered at the conference. Information about non-degree graduate credit will be posted at https://wvde.us/special-education/kidstrong-2019/.
The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department will have an Adult Immunization Clinic at the conference. The clinic will be in the main lobby according to this schedule:

The regulation of the temperature in a large facility like the Civic Center and adjunct hotels are beyond our control. Please dress in layers so you can adapt to the variable temperature of each conference room and venue used throughout the event.
Parking is available at the Charleston Town Center for $1.75 per day; however, you may need to walk several blocks to and from your destinations. Please check a map and plan your time accordingly.
Free parking is available at the Civic Center, but space will be limited.
Lodging costs will be YOUR responsibility for the KidStrong Conference. Room blocks at special conference rates have been reserved.
Reservations are entirely YOUR responsibility. Rooms are on a first-come, first-served basis. Room blocks are closed; however, rooms may still be available at the hotels listed below:
