Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide support services and responsive communication to all instructional and administrative staff across the state. 
2. Assist in the implementation of an effective and high-quality Simulated Workplace environment in all CTE programs of study.  
3. Assist in the evaluation and determination of a program/initiativeís effectiveness via onsite visits and/or surveys. 
4. Assist with the application of the NOCTI assessment through collaboration between WVDE and LEA staffs. 
5. Synchronize the development of new courses, programs of study, and industry certifications that are responsive to changes in the labor market, as well as the interest of students. 
6. Coordinate with various stakeholders to organize and plan student events that are budget conscious and of high-quality. 
7. Collaborate with various entities to ensure CTE programing is being marketed and implemented across all grade levels. 
8. Assist in the management of CTE professional development which directly impacts CTE instructors and administrators. 
9. Work directly with the Office of Professional Preparation and teacher education institutions to assure all CTE instructors are in compliance with current teaching certifications and/or CEUs in accordance with Policy 5202. 
10. Assist in the development/revision of WVDE policies and code. 
11. Perform other duties as assigned in conjunction with Department, Division, and Office activities. 
The Coordinator is responsible for the organization and implementation of CTE programs and initiatives that directly related to student, instructor, and administrator development and empowerment.  
Department of Education staff are employed upon recommendation of the State Superintendent of Schools and are state employees. No representative or employee of the state is authorized to enter into any employment contract or other agreement. Department staff work under the direction of the State Superintendent of Schools for the general supervision of the free schools in the state and implementing the policies of the board and other necessary tasks as determined by the State Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee. Each employee is ďat-willĒ and subject to termination by the State Superintendent of Schools at any time, with or without notice, cause or compensation. 
The employment relationship between the State Superintendent of Schools and the employee may be terminated by either party. Reasons for termination by the State Superintendent of Schools include, but are not limited to, immorality, incompetency, cruelty, insubordination, intemperance, willful neglect of duty, unsatisfactory performance, the conviction of a felony or a guilty plea or a plea of no contest to a felony charge, misuse of funds or property, violations of law or policies of the state board, lack of need, or a lack or loss of funding.

Academic Credentials & Knowledge 
1. Masterís Degree in an education related field. 
2. Experience in Career Technical Education administration preferred. 
Skills & Experience 
3. Effective written and oral presentation skills. 
4. Experienced with current industry certifications and knowledge of future workforce trends. 
5. Experience in workforce/commerce training, research, marketing, project management, or equivalent. 
6. Demonstrated ability to schedule, organize, and perform multiple assignments with minimum supervision. 
7. Experience with various training methods, including on-the-job coaching, mentorship programs, and virtual training and involvement with different projects, like management training and soft-skills development, are also essential. 
8. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to foster collaborative team relationships. 
9. Evidence of skills required to develop, conduct, and monitor the delivery of professional development programs for instructors. 
10. Willingness to travel.
