VERB TENSE I have gone or I have went?
EXPLANATION:
Basic Rule: Verbs have at least three principal parts: the present form (go); the past form
(went); and the past participle (gone). The past participle is always used with a helping verb
such as have, has, or had. If the verb is regular, the past form and the past participle form are
formed by adding d or ed. However, if the verb is irregular, the past form and the past participle
will have either the exact same spelling as the present (see explanation below) or a completely
different spelling from the present form.
Present - Go
Past - Went
Past Participle - Have Gone
EXAMPLE:
Incorrect: I have went to the store.(Went never takes a helping verb)
Correct: I have gone to the store.
