Troops to Teachers
Junior ROTC Programs for High Schools
The Troops to Teachers program may offer qualifying members career counseling, job placement assistance, and
possibly up to $10,000 in financial assistance toward becoming a JROTC instructor. The following are the official
federal websites for JROTC. Each website offers information about the national requirements for certification as a
JROTC instructor and vacancy listings. While these listings provide information about vacancies in each state,
you will still be required to apply on the county's official employment website to be considered for a vacant
JROTC position in West Virginia. JROTC instructors in West Virginia are also required to attain an annual teaching
authorization from the Office of Professional Preparation. For more information about our state's certification
