Troops to Teachers

The Troops to Teachers program is a benefit provided by the Defense Activity for Non-traditional Education Support to qualifying military personnel. The program assists veterans in their efforts to participate in another rewarding area of public service by sharing their knowledge and experiences with America's youth as professional educators.

The Federal Troops to Teachers Program

Qualifying members of Troops to Teachers may be eligible to receive the following benefits:

Career Counseling and Job Placement Assistance

• counseling on routes to teacher certification
• participation in the job referral process via the Jobs2Teach website

Financial Assistance

• requires a three year teaching commitment
• up to $5,000 stipend for teacher certification expenses

  a bonus of up to $10,000
