So what would you do if you were asked to sew a flag that was so big that it wouldn't even fit in your house?

If the only place you could get materials was from pirates...would you use them? For our nation's flag????

FLOOR PLAN OF MARY PICKERSGILL’S HOUSE

The huge 30 by 42–foot flag overwhelmed the cramped rooms of Pickersgill’s house. She moved the operation across the street to the more spacious Claggett’s brewery. There they assembled the pieces of the flag and placed fifteen cotton stars on the blue canton.

When this flag was sewn we had 18 states, yet this flag only has 15 stars.
Why?
What states are missing?

This HUGE flag was flown over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, MD during the war of 1812. When Francis Scott Key looked up and saw that the flag was still there it inspired him to write the words that would become our national anthem. How would you preserve and exhibit such an artifact?
