Racial segregation was not illegal in
the United States on February 1,
1960, when four African American college
students sat down at a “whites-only”
lunch counter at an F. W. Woolworth
store in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Politely asking for service, their request
was refused. When asked to leave, they
remained in their seats.

Talking about making a change is one thing.

Doing something is completely different.

Learning by doing

Teachers, practicing to stage their own sit-in. Learning its much more than just 'sitting'.

Did you know you needed training to stage a sit in? Do you have the courage to sit perfectly still if someone dumps a milkshake on your head? Did you know the coins in your pockets could be considered weapons?
