E-mail Account Passwords

The password issued for new accounts on access.k12.wv.us can be changed by the user at the following web page:

http://access.k12.wv.us:1081

The user must know the current password to use this function.

The password can be changed according to the following requirements:

  • minimum of 4 alphabetic characters
  • minimum of 1 non-alphabetic character (number)
  • minimum of 1 character not in old password
  • minimum of 5 characters in length
  • maximum of 8 characters

If a password is forgotten, there are two methods to resolve the problem:

  • preferred method - the county or school contact can login at http://access.k12.wv.us:1026 and select the option to request a new password for an account. The contact will receive the new password via e-mail usually in less than one hour.
  • alternate method - the county or school contact can send the account information in an e-mail request to k12admin@access.k12.wv.us to have a new password assigned. Include the full name, login ID, school (location) and county in the request

New passwords must not be given over the phone without absolute assurance of the identities of the callers.
