EETT Round 9 One-to-One Initiative

In alignment with the National Educational Technology Plan and the purpose of the EETT program to support education reform and promote research-based instructional methods that can be replicated, the design for the 2010 EETT competitive grant is to fully fund a transformative technology program that will contribute to the body of research on 1:1 technology access programs.

Based on the need for research and building upon the success of the TMS with Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) implementation, the program’s design for 2010 is to fully fund a transformative technology program that provides for a 1:1 implementation and has a credentialed TIS who will provide and/or coordinate appropriate professional development activities for all teachers and administrators in the school.

The focus of this round of federal EETT funding is the development of a transformative model that will provide “best practice” for 1:1 implementations that support and enhance reforms to improve student achievement. The cost for funding 1:1 implementations with transformative elements is costly and federal EETT funds have been reduced significantly, therefore, only one competitive application was awarded.
