Interested in switching careers?

Individuals who desire to switch into an educational career as a general or special education teacher must first complete one of the following processes:

• Complete an approved post-baccalaureate’s teaching certification program
• Complete a master’s degree in the art of teaching through an approved personnel preparation program
• Complete the Transition to Teaching program (for career switchers)
• Complete the Troops to Teachers program (for qualifying veterans only)
• Complete an alternative route to certification

Next, the individual must apply for a teaching certification and become a licensed educator.

Finally, the individual must find employment as an educator.
