Entry Event/Document
|
Projects are launched with
entry events. These events may be a
class discussion, a field trip, an article, a guest lecturer, or an
activity. Problem-based projects often employ
an entry document designed as a scenario-builder that outlines the problem or
issues, defines the students’ roles and tasks, and sets forth the expectations
for successful work the project. A
Thought-provoking beginning to a project generates enthusiasm and
interest. The goal of an entry event or
an entry document is to quickly help students understand the scope of the
project, the products that will be required and the assessments that will take
place throughout the project. Sample
entry events and documents can be found within the Project Based Learning units
