Academic Prompts
|
An academic prompt is a
structured performance task that elicits the student’s creation of a controlled
performance or product. The academic
prompt represents a task that assesses student knowledge, skills and understanding
during the course of a project. These
performances and products should align with criteria expressed in a scoring
guide or rubric. Successful academic
prompts articulate a format, audience, topic/content focus, and purpose
(FAT-P). Sample academic prompts, with
accompanying rubrics, are found in all instructional guides on the Teach 21
site, http://wveis.k12.wv.us/Teach21/public/Iguide.
