Increased Depth of Knowledge (DOK) Levels

Following the first revision of the WV Content Standards and Objectives in 2007, the WVDE contracted with Dr. Norman Webb to conduct a depth of knowledge (DOK) and vertical alignment study of the content standards and objectives for reading, English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The initial review by Dr. Webb and his team lead to further revisions of standards and objectives in all content areas before we were satisfied that we had met the State Board of Education mandate for world class rigor and vertical alignment. We have included Dr. Webb’s Alignment Analysis of Standards and 2008 Pre Alignment Study for Mathematics, Reading Language Arts, and Science.
