Getting to Know Students

Before teachers can differentiate instruction to meet students' needs, they must get to know their students' interests, learning profiles and readiness to learn.  There are many tools to help teachers learn about the individuals in their classrooms.  Two units, Getting to Know You in 5th grade and All About Me in 7th grade, are provided on the Teach 21 unit page.  Here are a sampling of strategies to help teachers collect this valuable information.
