Writing in Science

Writing in Science can help students examine their knowledge and understanding of basic science concepts and ideas.  It can furnish students an opportunity to use and develop an understanding of content-specific vocabulary.  Teachers can use the writing as formative assessment to judge whether or not students are comprehending the vital information in the discipline.  Science Journals and Learning Logs are great oppotunities to connect Science and Writing.
