Spanish CharactersYou can highlight and copy this line of Spanish characters, then paste them all at the top of an area where you need to type in Spanish. Once you have these characters on your page, you can select individual characters and paste them as you need them while you are typing. This can be helpful if you are having trouble typing the characters on the keyboard by using the "ALT" key and the numbers.

Hold down the "Alt" key, then type the following
numbers on the numeric keypad at the right side of the keyboard.
Release the "Alt" key and the accented or special
character will appear.
Note: If using a laptop without a number pad keyboard, follow these steps to type the accented characters:
1. Hold down the Fn key and the ALT key
2. Type the number shown on the chart using the embedded numberpad (small blue numbers on the keyboard)
3. Release the Fn and ALT key
Your special character will appear.
NOTE: It has been reported that some computers have issues with using the ALT+code method to generate the special characters. This has been related to computers controlled by AB Tutor lab management software. AB Tutor allows administrators to enforce policies that limit or restrict the use of the Alt key. If you experience these issues, please have a school or county technology technician determine if this is the case.
