Reading For All

READING FOR ALL began as a West Virginia Department of Education initiative in 1999. The plan was developed with input from legislators, educators, parents, community leaders, and business representatives from throughout the state. The plan has three phases: Learn to Read (K-4); Read to Learn ( 5-12); and Read to Succeed (Adult). Each phase includes three major focal points of professional development, strengthening the instructional cycle (curriculum, instruction, assessment), and parent/community involvement. All WVDE reading programs and activities rest under the umbrella of READING FOR ALL.
