WESTEST2 Information
The West Virginia Educational Standards Test 2 (WESTEST 2) measures student knowledge
of mathematics, reading/language arts, science and social studies.
Student scores are based on test questions that have been aligned to the West Virginia
21st Century Content Standards and Objectives. The test results provide information about
your child's academic strengths and areas that need improvement.
Student achievement on WESTEST2 is based on internationally rigorous scale scores. Where a
student’s score falls within the scale score ranges determines the performance level. Those
scoring at mastery or above are considered proficient under No Child Left Behind. Cut score
ranges are posted here http://wvde.state.wv.us/oaa/westest2_cut_score_ranges.html.
