GIFTED EDUCATION GUIDELINES
Supplementary Aids, Services and Program Modifications are provided in the general education environment (GEE). Supplementary Aides and Services do not modify content, process or product, but provide supports and accommodations beyond those provided to all students; for example, a behavior intervention plan (BIP) or specialized equipment. If a student will be accelerated to a higher grade level in a single subject in a general education classroom, taught by a general education teacher, this service should be included in the Supplementary Aids/Services section. No goal(s) are to be written for supplementary aids and services. Special Education Services include specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of the student. Special education services are those necessary to enable the student to achieve the annual goals and make progress in learning. Services are either directly or indirectly provided by the gifted education teacher in a special education environment (SEE) or a general education environment (GEE). INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PROGRAM
