Education Programs (IEPs) |
Services
are informed by the goals. Services are designed to meet the
educational needs of the student and to advance the student
toward his/her IEP goals in the Least Restrictive Environment
(LRE).
Supplementary Aids, Services
and Program Modifications are provided in the general education
environment (GEE). Supplementary Aides and Services do not
modify content, process or product, but provide supports and
accommodations beyond those provided to all students; for
example, a behavior intervention plan (BIP) or specialized
equipment.
Special Education Services
are the specially designed instruction that accomplishes
the IEP goals, delivered by the program specialist; in this
case, the gifted education specialist.
The B. Special Education Services
indicated as I - indirect are not used in the calculation
for LRE - Least Restrictive Environment. Services indicated
as D - direct are used in the calculation. However, the
LRE for students coded as Gifted - GF and Exceptional Gifted
- EC, are not included in federal reporting of LRE.
Related Services enable
students to benefit from special education services. An
example would be speech therapy.
