Early Childhood E-Learning Opportunities

Early childhood educators working in West Virginia Universal Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms now have the opportunity to participate in e-Learning courses specifically designed for early childhood. Courses include Child Development, Early Childhood Special Needs Inclusion, Creating a Language Rich Environment, Early Childhood Curriculum, Early Childhood Assessment, and Family and Community Engagement.

Lead Teachers

Pre-K Lead Teachers may begin registering for the Fall 2016 lead teacher early childhood courses on September 1, 2016 via self-registration on WVLearns.If you have been assigned a login and password for a previous course, please do not register for another WVLearns eLearning account. Self-Registration instructions may be accessed from http://wvde.state.wv.us/elearning/registration.php.

Courses will begin October 5, 2016.

Application for Community Program Authorization (Form 50) – use this form when applying for the permanent, the initial, or to renew certification to teach in a partnership between a local school system and a community PK program. This credential is required when the teacher does not hold a valid WV Professional Teaching Certificate endorsed for PK.

Assistant Teachers

Application for Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher Authorization (Form 41) – use this form when applying for the permanent, the initial, or to renew the authorization for Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (Pre-K – K).
