WVDE Puts Out A Call For Civics Teachers Posted: April 22, 2005 Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) invites all West Virginia civics teachers to participate on the “Civics/Government and Citizenship – Every Student Every Day” Task Force. The first meeting of the Task Force will be on August 1 - 3, 2005 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Charleston, West Virginia. The Task Force is an exciting initiative designed to assist West Virginia High School teachers as they implement the new Civics/ Government and Citizenship graduation requirement. The work of the Task Force will include:

Completed applications must be submitted by May 20, 2005. Thirty teachers will be selected as task force members. Teachers will be notified of the selections the first week of June. Travel cost, lodging, meals and materials are provided by the WVDE for all Task Force members.
