Posted: April 07, 2005
Charleston, W.Va. - The West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) will sponsor summer institutes that will focus on the new Pre-K content standards and strategies to include children with disabilities in early childhood settings. Public school preschool teachers, Head Start and child care providers, kindergarten teachers and other early education providers, administrators and trainers are encouraged to attend the institutes.

Scheduled throughout the summer, those who are interested should find a time and location that can meet their needs. Three institutes for the pre-k content standards are planned for Concord University, West Virginia University (WVU) and Marshall University, while four institutes for preschool inclusion are scheduled for WVU, Concord University, Marshall University and Shepherd University.

Tuition will be provided to all participants and three hours of undergraduate or graduate credit is available. There will be a $30 non-refundable registration fee. Enrollment deadline is April 15.
