Free Staff Development Offered For Civics/Government And Citizenship Education Teachers In West Virginia

Charleston, W.Va. -A Civics/Government and Citizenship Institute is planned for September 20 - 21, 2004 at the Embassy Suites in Charleston. The institute is a professional development seminar targeted to the state’s middle school and high school teachers who teach civics/government as part of the social studies curriculum; to the teachers teaching the new civics/government requirement; and/or teachers who teach other civic/government classes at the high school level. The institute is offered free to 100 applicants. The theme of the conference is “Civics/Government and Citizenship – Every Student Every Day.”
Travel cost, lodging cost, meals, substitute cost and materials are provided for all institute participants. Apply by completing the attached registration form and faxing to Sharon Flack at 304-558-0459. Participants will be chosen based on their submitted application content.
