Third Annual Reading Research Symposium Expected to Attract Hundreds of West Virginia Educators

March 10, 2004

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - More than 750 educators will enhance their reading skills when they attend the third annual Reading Research Symposium. The symposium will be held March 14-16, 2004 at the Charleston Civic Center. Reading Research K-12: A Convergence of the Evidence is this year’s conference theme.

“The large number of participants sends a clear message of the dedication and interest from West Virginia’s teachers regarding reading research,” said Beverly Kingery, coordinator for Reading and Language Arts. “Participants will learn more about the use of reading content and strategies that are supported by a convergence of research evidence.”

The three-day symposium will feature several national reading experts. Other highlights include a professional book exchange among participants and an educational vendor fair.
