MarcoPolo Trainer Named Field Trainer of the Month

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) employee recently received recognition for his work with an Internet education program. Mark Moore, coordinator for the WVDE Employee Development Center, was named MarcoPolo Field Trainer of the Month in August 2003.  

Moore, who coordinates the After Hours Program for the Employee Development Center, also provides training to educators through MarcoPolo. MarcoPolo provides high quality, standards-based Internet content and professional development to K-12 teachers and students throughout the United States. Since 2000, WVDE has utilized the program to provide professional development for teachers across the state to help them use Internet resources in the classroom with their students.  

Moore qualified for the award by training educators and receiving a minimum score of 4.5 out of 5 on his trainer evaluation. He received the same award for the month of August 2002 and was named Field Trainer of the Year for 2002.
