CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Three of the West Virginia Department of Education’s Institutional Education Programs achieved national accreditation from the Correctional Education Association.
The Anthony Correctional Center in Neola, the Davis Correctional Center in Davis, and the West Virginia Industrial Home for the Youth in Salem, received successful audits with scores of 100 percent. Achieving and maintaining accreditation for the schools within the correctional facilities in West Virginia demonstrates an exemplary level of service, professionalism and accountability.
“The accreditation status of our education programs offered at our correctional institutions shows that they are of high quality and professionalism,” said State Schools Superintendent David Stewart. “The students in these programs are receiving a top-notch education.”
The Correctional Education Association is the accrediting body for schools within the West Virginia Department of Education’s Office of Instructional Education Programs.
