Applications Available On-line for Governor's Schools

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The West Virginia Department of Education and the West Virginia Governor's Schools are seeking students and faculty for the Governor's School for the Arts (GSA), the Governor's Honors Academy (GHA) and the Governor's School for Math and Science (GSMS).
Students who are currently in the tenth grade are eligible to apply for the GSA, which is scheduled for June 15-July 6 at West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown. Eleventh grade students are eligible to apply for the GHA, which is set for June 29-July 20 at Marshall University in Huntington. The GSMS will be at WVU from July 23-August 1 for seventh graders, and July 6-18 for eighth graders. The application deadline varies for each academy. Faculty applications for all academies are due by November 27; GSA student applications are due by December 13; Resident Director and Resident Assistant applications for all academies are due by January 28; GHA student applications are due by February 15, and GSMS applications are due by March 1.
Students are responsible for mailing their own applications for the School for the Arts. Governor's Honors Academy and Governor's School for Math and Science applications are to be submitted to the school counselor according to local timelines.
