West Virginia Teachers Have a Chance to Study Abroad As Part of the Fulbright Memorial Fund Program Posted: October 02, 2002 Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Education today announced an opportunity for West Virginia teachers to spend three weeks studying abroad as part of the 2003 Fulbright Memorial Fund program. West Virginia primary/secondary teachers and administrators are being encouraged to apply for the award. Teachers can apply online by logging onto www.iie.org/pgms/fmf or by calling 1-888-527-2636. The application deadline is December 10, 2002. The Fulbright Memorial Fund program aims to increase the level of understanding between Japan and the United States. The nationwide program also provides a significant opportunity for the professional development of educators. This program is fully funded by the government of Japan. Altogether, six hundred award recipients from around the country will be selected to travel to Japan in 2003. |
