Educators who enroll in the academy will work with 12 trainers who will introduce them to researched-based strategies and materials to more effectively teach mathematics at the elementary grade level. The trainers will guide the participants on how to implement these strategies in their lesson plans.
“With the No Child Left Behind Act, we will all be facing new challenges,” said Terri Hammond, Coordinator of Title I Mathematics. “With our new content standards and assessment soon to be implemented, this is the perfect time to provide educators a head start with these strategies and materials.”
This is the fourth year for the academy, which will run through August 16. For more information regarding the academy, please contact Terri Hammond at (304) 558-7817.
