Tobacco Prevention Scholarship Available to High School Seniors Posted: February 06, 2002 West Virginia high school seniors who have helped prevent smoking and other uses of tobacco among youths may be eligible for scholarship money. The West Virginia Department of Education, along with the West Virginia Hospital Association, WV Tobacco Prevention Program and the American Lung Association of West Virginia, wants to award eight lucky high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in tobacco prevention with a Youth Tobacco Prevention Leadership Scholarship. One college scholarship will be made available in each of the eight Regional Educational Service Agencies (RESA) to high school seniors who have helped make a difference in tobacco use prevention. The application deadline is April 1, 2002.
