The West Virginia Department of Education Requests Waiver for Extension of Reading Excellence Act Federal Grant

The West Virginia Department of Education is requesting a waiver for extension of the existing Reading Excellence Act federal grant. The Reading Excellence Act grant provides reading improvement for 21 districts in West Virginia. The grant expires August 16, 2002. The extension is requested until March 1, 2003 in order to 1.) complete major reading initiatives implemented during the current grant period; and 2) obtain accurate and valid data for evaluation purposes.
