Safe Schools Conference will Address School Violence and Character Education Posted: November 19, 2001
State Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Stewart and Gov. Bob Wise will be the featured speakers at the opening session of the West Virginia Department of Education Safe Schools Conference at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 26 at the Charleston Marriott.
The conference runs through Nov. 30 and is aimed at providing assistance to local schools and districts in the development of plans for responding to and preventing school violence. Conference sessions are also designed to assist schools in developing character education initiatives and advancing components of a safe school environment.
