Academy Provides Teachers with Training and Strategies to Improve Reading Achievement

One hundred sixty-five teachers from across the Mountain State will assemble in Charleston Monday, June 25, through Friday, June 29, for the 2001 West Virginia Reading Academy.  

The professional development program will provide teachers with training and strategies to improve studentsí reading skills.  

Debbie Silver, an internationally-known speaker and educational consultant, will be the featured speaker. She will address participants on Monday, June 25, starting at 1 p.m. Silver has delivered keynote addresses and workshop presentations to teachers, administrators, students, and businesses in 40 states, Canada, and Europe.
