DEP Offers Workshops to Teachers
Posted: February 22, 2001
"From awareness to responsible action" is the theme of the free workshops offered by Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) and Project Underground to K-12 educators working in Jefferson, Berkeley, Mineral, Grant, Hardy, Hampshire, Pendleton, Randolph, Pocahontas, Greenbrier, Monroe, Mercer, Summers, and Tucker.
The potential for pollution of wells and springs in these counties is of serious concern because they are characterized by caves and sinkholes.
Workshop participants will receive The Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide and the Project Underground Natural Resource Education Guide. The publications contain more than 110 easy-to-use, hands-on activities and background information designed to promote knowledge of water resources. To schedule a workshop or for more information contact Rosanna Long, WV Division of Environmental Protection, 304-558-3614. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
