West Virginia's Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award winners will be honored during a special ceremony on Wednesday, January 10, at the Charleston Marriott Hotel. The award recipients are: Rosemary Basham, a first grade teacher at Midland Trail Elementary in Kanawha County; Cheryl Nelson, a multi-grade teacher at Hillsboro Elementary in Pocahontas County; and Paulette Phillips, a first grade teacher at Daybrook Elementary in Monongalia County.
These outstanding educators are the recipients of a $25,000 unrestricted financial award from the Los Angeles-based Milken Family Foundation.
State Superintendent Dr. David Stewart, West Virginia Board of Education members, representatives from the Milken Family Foundation, and educational leaders from across the state will attend the Jan. 10 event.
