Board of Education Seeks Public Comment

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Board of Education agreed Thursday to place a policy establishing environmental science standards on public comment for 30 days.                                      

Policy 2520.35: 21st Century Science 9-12 Content Standards and Objectives for West Virginia updates requirements for an elective course in environmental science. The objectives are tied to concepts and performance descriptors and are written to indicate student level of achievement.

Educators, parents and community members are encouraged to review the proposed changes and make suggestions. The policies can be viewed on the West Virginia Department of Education Web site at http://wvde.state.wv.us/policies.
