Comments can be made at a series of public hearings to be held at five locations across the state this month, or submitted in writing to the department. Changes to federal regulations effective Dec. 31, 2008 and clarifications issued since the policy was adopted in 2007 prompted the revisions.

·         Oct. 15, Wheeling Park High School in Wheeling
·         Oct. 21, Robert C. Byrd High School, Clarksburg
·         Oct. 22, Martinsburg South Middle School, Martinsburg
·         Oct. 27, RESA I Office, Beckley
All hearings will be held 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. except for the Wheeling hearing, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A sign language interpreter will be available at each public hearing.
